12 STUNNING GOLD EMBOSSED ROYAL DOULTON DINNER PLATES FOR OVINGTON BROTHERS 1930. These antique dinner plates are dated 1930 and made by ROYAL DOULTON for OVINGTON BROTHERS (BROS), NEW YORK. The embossed hand painted/accented gold is near perfect and is still brilliantly shining after 88 years! The quality, workmanship, and attention to detail is magnificent. They even covered the foot-rim with gold to help prevent wear when the plates are stacked PLEASE STORE THESE PLATES WITH FELT BETWEEN THEM TO PRESERVE THEIR BEAUTY FOR ANOTHER 100 YEARS! These plates measure about 10 1/2 across. All of these plates are in excellent condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. However, there are some minor utensil marks. Royal Doulton included incised or impressed numbers to date their pieces and these plats have 1-1-30 indicated the mold was made January 1, 1930. There is also a pattern code handwritten near the foot-rim which is BB3122E with V823 under it. I must confess that I used 1 of these plates to serve my mother-in-law at Thanksgiving while everyone else ate off of our regular china. It really made an impression and she felt like she was being served like a queen… Indeed, these plates are worthy of a palace.
