Antique Set of 12. All Over Gold Encrusted Dinner/Service Plates 1923. Approximate measurements: 10 ΒΌ. Set of 12 Dinner/Charger/Cabinet plates. Just realized that only 11 plates are in the pictures. One was sitting on the counter. But there are 12 plates included in this listing. My 83 year old friends mother-in-law received this set as a wedding present in 1923. When my friend gave it to me, it was packed in newspaper from the 1980s. My friend said her mother-in-law hadnt used it for years and years when she died and they packed it up. Gold encrusted face with a white underside. All over gold encrusted with a pattern that is floral, dots and suns (reminds me of the NBC TV logo). On back it is marked in green with a wreath with a crown above it and in the center of the wreath is UNION T and below the wreath it says Czech-Slovakia. Then the other mark is a gold diamond with the word CHINA inside and above the word China is a K and below the word is another letter which may be a B or D. I cant quite make it out (see pictures). Below the diamond it is also marked in gold GOLD COIN. NO repairs, cracks, or crazing. Plates have age appropriate wear. Ten of the plates each have 1-3 tiny spots where the gold is worn in the center section of each plate and you see a white spot(see pictures). I didnt notice until I was carefully checking each plate.
