Maker : This lovely set of 11 elegant dinner plates is by the renowned English ceramics firm Minton. They are in the rare gold and white version of the scalloped pattern called Minuet – number H5221 – with gold flowers and trim against a background of fine fluted pure white bone china. The more common version of Minuet is pale pink, and there is a solid white version as well. The versatile pattern would complement many similar gold and white designs by Minton or other quality makers, and would add a touch of distinction to any table. Age : Each plate has the impressed date stamp for either April or May 1959. Size : The plates are 10 3/4 inches wide and together weigh 11 pounds 12 ounces. Condition : Nine are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs or wear. One has a scratch near the center – it’s shown in the photos – and another has several faint utensil marks that can be seen in bright light.
