Ornate Set 12 Limoges French Porcelain Gold GIlt 10.25 Dinner Plates
Presented is a fantastic set of 12 antique French Limoges porcelain dinner plates, retailed by Ovington Bros, New York. This is a stunning and regal set featuring a raised gold gilt decoration in both matte and high finish gold, forming a design of floral garlands between and inner and outer laurel leaf border. The plates are a full dinner size, and would make a very impressive addition to any table setting. This set is in great overall condition. The gilding is in great shape, with only one or two spots of very minor wear. One plate has a chip to the rim, visible in the sixth photograph. There are no other chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. Each plate is stamped Limoges France as well as the retail mark for Ovington Bros, New York. 8 Antique CHARLES AHRENFELDT China LIMOGES Porcelain ROSES & GOLD Dinner Plates. A matched set of dinner plates made by CHARLES AHRENFELDT, for Philadelphia retailer Bailey, Banks and Biddle Co. Each plate measures 10 in diameter. These appear to have been hardly (if ever) used, with the slightest wear. Very very minimal surface scuffs and utensil marks, with lots of gloss remaining. One plate has a very small shallow repaired flake at rim, as shown in bottom photo. Very difficult to see. No other chips, nicks, cracks, hairlines, crazing, stains, or repairs.
