Is a porcelain brand based in Worcester, England. In 1751, the company was founded as Worcester porcelain in Worcester, in the West Midlands region of England, with William Davis as proprietor and Dr. John Wall, a chemist and physician, providing technical guidance. In 1752, they merged with Bristol manufactory, which made soft-paste porcelain by mixing Soapstone into the base. Since then, mass production has been made possible by advanced techniques for painting enamel colors on the glaze and the technique of copperplate engraving transfer. In this way, the company achieved both high quality and productivity, and in 1789 granted a royal warrant from George III, the first in the British ceramics world. The masterpiece “Painted Fruit” is Worcester’s finest artifact. Freehand painting and firing are repeated 6 times. With a red luster border with gold gilt floral scrollwork designs. Marked on the reverse with a Royal Vienna crown & beehive mark. This mark is shown in the RS Prussia books as an RS Prussia mark. Has some wear the gilding, and a scratch to the background, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 10 5/8 inches wide. Sevres Style Lady & Cherub Floral Raised Gold Celeste Blue & Gilt Ormolu Plate. Nice antique French porcelain plate. Decorated with a hand painted scene of a lady on a swing and and cherub. Has a celeste blue border with gold beads and raised gold roses and floral scrollwork. With three white cartouches in the border with hand painted flowers in pink, blue, purple, white, yellow, and orange framed by raised gold scrollwork. Has a gilt ormolu rim. Signed by the artist Daly. Marked on the reverse with a green underglaze Limoges France mark that is obscured by a gold crown. Also marked with a pseudo / spurious blue double L mark. Probably decorated in Paris. Has some wear to the gilding and wear and tarnish to the gilt ormolu rim, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 9 1/2 inches wide. Decorated in the Royal Vienna style with a hand painted courting couple int he center. The man is sitting on a stone wall in front of trees and a castle. The scene is framed in a gold gilt square with raised gold triangles and diagonal lines. With pink around the square with gold gilt floral scrollwork designs. Has gold gilding with raised geometric designs along the inner rim. Has a yellow border with chocolate brown, red and pink panels framed in gold gilding. The brown panels have blue, green, orange, and light purple floral scrollwork. The red panels have a yellow, gold beaded, and blue diamond with a raised gold floral design in the center and small white beading. The pink panels have a brown medallion with a raised white enamel floral design framed in gold beading, with small gold stars and dots over the pink. With a row of gold gilt lines and beading over the yellow portions. Has a partially impressed F 74 mark used by Fraureuth between 1865 and 1896. Also has an overglaze pseudo / spurious Royal Vienna blue beehive/shield mark. Probably decorated in Austria or Germany during the late 19th century or early 20th century, prior to 1918. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 1/4 inches wide. Donath Levinsohn Dresden Style Hand Painted Floral & Gold 9 3/4 Inch Plate Nice porcelain dinner plate. Decorated with hand painted pink roses in the center framed by pink, purple, orange, blue, red, and yellow floral swags and intertwined gold gilt leaves. With gold diamond and scrollwork border. Gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the reverse with an underglaze blue crown above an S mark. This mark was used by P Donath’s Silesian Porcelain Factory in Teifenfurth between 1896 and 1922. Also has an overglaze blue crossed rapier mark. This mark is similar to one that was used by P Donath & Louis Levinsohn Silesian Porcelain Factory between 1883 and 1916. This is probably the P Donath and Levinsohn mark. The documented mark is a crossed rapier with an S. They probably applied the rapiers without the S since the mark was being placed directly below the underglaze crown S mark. Has a lot of wear to the gilding, but no chips or cracks.
