This flow blue was made by The New Wharf Pottery Company in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. New Wharf Pottery began production some time between 1875 and 1877. They stayed in business until 1894 when they became part of Wood and Son. The mark on the back of these pieces dates between 1891 and 1894. These plates measure 9 in diameter and have a lot of deeply flown blue in them. Most of these items are in very good condition for their age. The gold looks very good. These plates do have what you would expect to find in flow blue of this age: 3 have crazing. Most have some light knife scratching. One has a little more than the others. We pack with great care.
