This unique 45 piece hand painted porcelain Bavaria china is a real treasure. You will find the designer’s name painted on the front and back of each plate and on every piece. All are gold trimmed. 87.5 Round Dinner Plates. 65 Round Bread Plates — Only one is pictured d/t ebays photo limit. 4 Round Small Soup/Fruit Bowls. 2 Sugar Pieces With Double Handles, one with lid. What I find so interesting is the different time periods painted on the pieces that range from; 1960, 1961,1962, 1964, and lastly the butter dish 1967. The same hand painted design/pattern was backstamped in different districts of Bavaria, Germany: Plankenhammer- Floss, Tirschenreuth, Alka-Kunst, Bareuther, and Arzberg, Bavaria-Germany. Some pieces have painted backstamps and some do not. It was common then and does not decrease the value or uniqueness of the piece. I mapped the route of all the districts in Bavaria, Germany from northern Arzberg to southern Floss to north-east Tirschenreuth, and back up to Arzberg would have been over 60 miles and traveling by car, it would take about 1 hr and 20 mins. It was so neat to see the paths this person traveled to make their dreams come true. Please see the pictures: One large dinner plate has a small chip, one tea cup and saucer also has a small chip, they are circled in the pictures. One of the sugar dish does not have a lid anymore. Coalport Hand Colored Pink Rose Floral Beige & Gold 9 5/8 Inch Plate C. Nice antique British bone china plate. Decorated with hand colored flowers in pink, purple, red, yellow, and blue over white in beige and gold scrollwork, dot, and flower panels. Gold gilding along the edge. Has an impressed BB mark I’ve had on other Coalport pieces and Coalport pattern number 6 761 in gold. Has some wear to the gilding and a small chip to the back edge, but otherwise good condition. Decorated with a hand painted portrait of a blonde lady with large green hat with pink feathers and a yellow and white gown over a white background with small gold dots. The scene is framed by a wide bright yellow border with raised gold floral, urn, and scrollwork designs and gold beading. Marked on the bottom with a blue W inside a shield and Dresden Germany underneath. This is an overglaze decorating mark used by Richard Wehsner in Dresden Germany around 1895. Has some losses to the gold beading, but no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide. Sevres / Paris Hand Painted Floral Baskets Cherubs King George IV Service Plate. Antique Sevres soft paste porcelain plate. Decorated with a central bouquet of hand painted flowers in pink, yellow, and blue. With scalloped / arched and floral gilding and a gold band along the inner rim of the plate. Has a border with hand painted cherubs on clouds with flowers framed by gold gilding, green laurel leaf wreaths and floral swags, gold rose swags, and hand painted floral baskets. Cobalt blue and gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the reverse with a hand painted double L mark with a U inside for 1773 and a star above. The star is a painter’s mark for Antoine Caton, who worked at Sevres from 1749 to 1798. A reciept dated October 23, 1824, reads’Un Service de Porcelaine de Sevres a Cartels d’Enfans et fleurs compose de 131 pieces 400 pounds. In the book French Porcelain in the Collection of Her Majesty The Queen by Geoffrey de Bellaigue Volume II a complete inventory of the remaining pieces of this service in the royal collection state that there are five plates marked with a U for 1773 and the five pointed star for Caton. Bellaigue states that the painting of the cherubs on the five Caton plates are of higher quality than those of other plates in the service and that it is his theory that the plates bearing Caton’s mark may have been part of a group of unfinished items listed in the Sevres inventory dated 1 January 1774 under the heading Magazin de Blanc Porcelaine tendre. This is a beautiful plate with an interesting history. Has some wear to the gilding mostly along the edge and scratches to the center, but otherwise good condition. Each plate is decorated with a pale yellow and gold encrusted border with three sections of hand colored flowers in pink, yellow, white and blue. Marked on the reverse with the pattern number V3531 and Cauldon England. This mark was used between 1905 and 1920. These have some minor wear consistent with age and use, but no chips or cracks.
