Nippon Hand Painted Georgian Lady Floral Green Cobalt & Gold Plate 1891 – 1921 Beautiful plate with relief molded scrollwork edge. Nicely decorated with a blonde girl in a pink and green Colonial / Georgian gown with flowers in her hair and a small blue bird in her left hand. She is framed by a band of cobalt blue with gold gilt medallion and scrollwork overlay, a band of green with gold gilt and red diamond and floral designs, and cobalt blue with gold gilt scrollwork along the edge. With three panels around the scene with green, red, yellow and gilt floral scrollwork designs. Unmarked, but probably made in Japan during the Nippon era, circa 1891 to 1921. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide.
