Rockingham Violet Flowers Blue & Gold Rococo Scrollwork 9 3/8 Inch Plate Nice antique bone china plate with Rococo scrolled leaf molding with gold highlights. Blue border with gold scrollwork and gold bands. Hand painted purple and yellow violet flowers in the center. Marked on the reverse with a puce griffin above Rockingham Works Brameld Manufacturers to the King. This mark was used between 1830 and 1837. Also has the flower name Violet in red on the reverse. Has crazing typical of bone china, some wear consistent with age and use, a few spots of discoloration to the blue border, and an approximately 2 1/2 inch discolored crack extending off the edge. Measures approximately 9 3/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
