Offered for your consideration is this beautiful set of four antique Copeland Spode dinner plates. According to the incised hallmark A over 25 on the back, these pieces were made in Jan 1925. Very lovely hand painted Chinese export Nanking style or willow pattern, completely painted in gold on orange background. The rim is decorated with an underglaze orange or russet ground which has been finely gilded with a Willow pattern. The center has a Chinoiserie style flower basket. Made as a more “upscale” version of the classic Blue Willow pattern, this plate shows all of the signs of quality that one would expect to find on a piece produced by Copeland Spode (Hand trimmed foot rim, superbly detailed gold transfer print, perfectly white translucent body, and a soft looking glaze). These plates are in very good condition with no chips or cracks but miniscule signs of wear to the decoration being its only excuse from bearing the mint label. These Copeland Spode porcelain plate would be ideal for the discriminating Copeland Spode collector who appreciates quality porcelain by firms such as Aynsley, Coalport, Cauldon, Royal Worcester, Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Minton and Royal Crown Derby! Plates measure 10 1/4 inches across. 99% of the gold is there. Each lot is 4 pieces. Please select quantity of 3 should you want all 12 plates. Great for your demitasse collection and can be a center piece for your Willow collection! This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Plates”.
