Fine Antiques & Collectables. A fine quality Minton pate-sur-pate dinner plate. This example has three panels with a deep cerise ground each with a classical style vignette of birds. There is elaborate raised gold detail in the Adams taste and gold brocade work with diaper style patterning. One panel has the artists initials – SA. The reverse has the Minton mark in gold along with impressed marks. In the mid 20th century Minton restarted production of pate-sur-pate which was halted due to war in the early 20th century. We have a similar example which carries a paper price lable which was likely original to the retailing in the 1960’s. This leads to the reason why these items are so scarce, sales were very limited – and they are actually better value now than they were some 50 years ago whilst being even more exclusive. Very good order, minimal wear. Diameter: 27 cm (10 5/8 inch). Weight: 598 grams (before packing). Stock Code: 2132 MY20-2. If for any reason you are unhappy with your item please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to put things right.
