Meissen Hand Painted Dresden Floral & Gold Dinner Plate Circa 1860 – 1924 Very pretty porcelain dinner plate. Nicely decorated with Meissen / Dresden style flowers in pink, purple, orange, blue, yellow and red. With gold gilt scrollwork designs along the edge. Marked on the reverse with the blue underglaze crossed swords mark used by the Imperial Meissen factory between 1860 and 1924. There are cross slashes through the mark. Some sources say this indicates second quality, while other sources state this is a myth and that it only indicates the piece was decorated outside the factory. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 3/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display-ability of the piece.
